Bollywood’s next offering is Maa 2025, a Hindi-language mythological horror film. Maa is directed by Vishal Furia. Bollywood actress Kajol will be seen acting in the lead role in this film. Maa 2025 is the first horror film of her career.
The film is based on demonic forces, and it shows to what extent a mother goes to save her child from supernatural powers. The film is produced by Ajay Devgan, Jyoti Deshpande, Jio Studios and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The film also stars Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, Gopal Singh, Suryasikha Das, Yaani Bhardwaj, Rupakatha Chakraborty and Kherin Sharma in supporting roles.
The story of the film “Maa” presents the amazing power, courage and love of a mother in a supernatural form. The story begins with Radhika and her daughter Shweta, who are traveling by car in a deserted forest. Shweta is troubled by menstrual pain and Radhika promises to take her to a doctor.
But suddenly their car stops at a deserted place and an invisible shadow brings them to the cursed village Chandrapur. A mysterious demonic spirit lives in this village, who demands the sacrifice of innocent girls. Radhika’s world is shaken when her daughter Shweta suddenly goes missing. The villagers tell that this curse was also the reason for her father’s death. The pain and power of a mother awakens within Radhika.
She sees that a dead tree has come alive and its branches are pulling Shweta. Then a unique energy flows within her, due to which the radiance of Goddess Kali appears in her eyes. She leaves her fear and grief behind and becomes a warrior mother who confronts the demon. Amidst the echoes of chants, breaking branches of trees and the darkness of the night, she fights to save her daughter.
Radhika eventually defeats the demon and brings Swetha to safety. The curse on the village is broken, but Radhika is no longer just a mother – she is a mother as well as a goddess. The story depicts the power of motherhood, and shows that when a mother’s love is in danger, she herself becomes a form of power.
